(sale pending) Nikkor 105mm f/2.5. EX- condition pre-Ai lens. Silver-nose 'Nippon Kogaku' version, single-coated, Sonnar type optical design. Optically, it's excellent with no scratches, fungus, or haze; just some (rather diminutive) dust inside. These are old lenses, so the dust is to be expected. Mechanically great with perfect diaphragm and very smooth focusing (it's been lubricated recently). Cosmetics are just good, with brassing on the focusing ring and some scratches on the barrel and the hood. Note the ding on the front of the barrel. This is a cosmetical issue that does not affect operation (filters screw in and out freely). I used this lens adapted for Canon EOS to take portrait shots. It's perfectly sharp and has very smooth rendering. Nikon front and rear caps and matching Nikon hood are included. $125 obo, plus shipping.
(Note on shipping: if this lens is going outside of North America, I will do my best to pack it so that it fits in the sub-500g category, but can't guarantee that as the lens itself is already 435g without the hood or caps. Visit canadapost.ca for shipping rates).
(SOLD) Nikkor 85mm f/1.8. EX- condition pre-Ai lens. Multicoated 'K' version. Optically, it's near perfect. No scratches, haze, fungus, or cleaning marks; only some dust inside (not much of it either). Mechanically excellent with perfect aperture operation. Focusing still rather smooth (if a bit tight). Cosmetically it's still quite good, with some wear you'd expect of a lens of this age. I can see some edge brassing and scratches on the barrel. No dings. Comes with both Nikon front and rear caps and Nikon HN-7 hood. This is the classic design, arguably it's better than the 85/2 Nikkor that replaced it later. $265 obo, plus shipping.
PayPal accepted. Shipping with CanadaPost at actual cost; visit www.canadapost.ca to estimate charges. If you're not happy with either lens, I'll take it back for full refund.

I concur, it's a simple optical formula with exceptionally little CA wide open, center detail is plenty for large size prints even wide open. Free of geometric distortion as well, as expected from an 85mm lens. It also focuses slightly closer than my ZF 85/1.4, which is of advantage for more creative close-up portraits.
Price isn't bad either, I'd buy it if I had money to spare. _________________ Vilhelm

Shpping from postal code V7E 6T4
Packed weight is approximately 0.6 kg for the 85/1.8, and I about the same for the 105/2.5. Both lenses can probably be under a kilo. _________________ List of lenses |
