Rushed out to get some shots of yesterday's sunset, treated to a beautiful show of wispy clouds and a sky on fire. The Pentacon 300's sharpness continues to impress me. I think the CZJ shots are slightly out of focus, dusk without the sun is a hard time to focus in my opinion. Too early for the street lights or stars, too late to get really sharp lines to focus on.

300mm (not sure which of these to pick) both at f/11:

Think I like the vertical one better.

135mm @ f/8:

This one was about 30 minutes after sunset:

Certainly a well captured moment.
Spectacular sunset but I think #4 still is the winner in my opinion.

300mm really made for great framing of that church, looks great in its silhouette.

#4 is the best.

And I think the vertical framing works better than the horizontal.

Thank you for the comments. The 300mm definitely is ideal for framing the castle from this location, I keep looking for places farther and farther as well to hopefully get it with my 500, no such luck yet.

I agree on the vertical framing too, but it's always nice to get different opinions.

Thanks again all.

These are absolutely gorgeous!

Number #1 and #2 are my favourites. LOVE the silhouettes, the fact that you can see the sun itself as it sets, and the glorious colour in these.

Beautifully done!

Yes, I think the silhouettes are fantastic too! No 1 is my favourite.

Excuse me for doing this but I couldn't resist it, the pic reminds me of something! Laughing

No 1 for me. One minor suggestion (I hope you don't mind) I would make the silhouette at the bottom solid black and crop just a little off the bottom. It is a wonderful picture as is, however!

Best wishes, Kris.
