I won this one recently, has anyone any experience of it at all?

Quite looking forward to trying it out...you never know what you might get with an old Sigma Confused Laughing

Hopefully it will arrive in a few days and I can give some examples Smile

Is this the same lens sold under Soligor and Vivitar brands (also Sears)?

NO, soligor , vivitar (and also panaogor , elicar) .. are komine made (top quality / quality close from nikon , canon , olympus...)

This sigma lens is manufactured in 1974/1975 .. most sigma lenses from this period are low/medium quality

I had a sigma zoom from that period which was so soft it actually looked dreamy Laughing We'll soon find out though!

Thanks PBFACTS. I have a Soligor on the way, purchased with some Super Taks, so was curious.

I have same finish , but 100mm f2.8 sharp even at wide open, generally good one. It has macro mode too what is crap most un-sharp what I ever seen include crappiest zooms.

I'd like to see a picture of the front of the lens when you get it. I'm curious if it is the same lens that was sold under the Spiratone name.

OK, I haven't had a chance to play around with this recently, but here are some pictures of the lens itself:

And some very quick snaps and crops:

Unfortunately I macro shoots need time and effort, so these shots will not do the lens justice. It seems a fairly compentant macro lens though Smile
