This is a very unscientific test of my new old lenses.
All images shot stopped down one stop from wide open.
ISO 100 on a Canon 30D.

The Tair 11-A bought in new condition was worth the 45 day wait!
The bottom part of the image above is a 100% crop.

Next, SMC Takumar 55/2.0

Love the color rendering, sharpness.

Helios 44-2 with 0xxxx serial number:

Finally, the stiff focus, yellowed with fungus inside and on the back element, the Pancolar 50/1.8:

Of course the Pancolar is my new favorite!

Minimal post processing. I'm thrilled with all four lenses!

I posted several more images in my blog. Love to see some comments from you there too.

I also linked back to this wonderful forum. Thank you all for your great advice!

All of your sample pictures are really pleasing to my eye Smile

I prefer the retro colours with creamy bokeh of the Helios.

Btw. do you have MC Pancolar, or zebra model?

All superb, but the Tak and the Helios shot are amazing Shocked

MFG, thanks! I was really impressed with all lenses.

No-X, thank you. The Helios is a star! I have the Pancolar zebra. Tell me, do I need the MC? Twisted Evil

Fish, thanks. Maybe I should let the Pancolar off the window ledge, where she is undergoing therapy, and let her mingle with the other lenses? Wink

All images were shot without a lens shade too. Here's the Pancolar in a somewaht flare-prone situation:

I think (but never tested it), that zebra pancolar has better bokeh than MC pancolar. Their optical designs are different.

a) Zebra, the most yellowish of pancolars 50.
b) black with red MC (the first black one) less yellowish than the zebra and more than the white MC.
c) White MC the less yellowish.

I sold my red MC, havwe the less yellowish. The best of all the pancolars 50, in my taste, of course.

Rino.

I currently own the red-MC one and the zebra one.

I never made any objective test between those two. That's the occasion.
I'll bring them tomorrow to my morning sunday walk through flea markets.

Concerning yellowing, I'm lucky for the zebra one which is only slightly yellow. I was lend another copy last year which were strongly yellow in comparaison.
