Looking for info and thoughts on the following lens:

Sigma Zoom - (greek delta) III 2.8~3.5 f=75~200
Focus scale goes to 1.2m and lists macro 1:4.5

I found a couple passing references to the Zoom deltas. Sigma User lists a zoom delta 2.8 - 3.5 as released in 1985. This one is a PK-A mount and the rubber grip backs up a mid 80s vintage.

I just picked it up, cheap, as I was looking for some faster zooms to play with. I haven't had time to get out and really shoot with it yet.

Anyone have much experience with this lens?

Not much help, but I have a Sigma Zoom-(Greek letter Pi) 35-200mm f:4~5.6 that I tried to take apart due to fungus growth. It's one of the most complicated zooms I've seen so far. Hope you don't need to get it serviced as it will cost in terms of time/hours for the CLA.

Mine is in my spare parts bin. The glass was too badly etched by fungus to recover.

Luckily this one is clean as a whistle, both glass and blades.

I got a couple of quick test snaps. I was wearing my glasses and forgot to correct the dioptre on the view finder so focus was off by a consistent smidge.

They look promising. Especially at the long end.

I'll post a couple of the better ones later tonight.

Now I just need to find where the max aperture jumps down from 2.8. Th e K10D was off a bit on some of the exposures in Av.
