Many thanks for your friendly comments.

@ Larry

I mostly like landscapes with a simple design, not too much different things on it, one main object and the rest let say only colours, structures etc.

Here 2 more samples

Rolf....magnificent island, and magnificent photography. I could look at
these kinds of scenes all day, especially with you behind the camera.

These blow me away.

I have a difficult time finding "simplified" landscapes here, although I'll
bet I am going to be looking harder after seeing your work. That's
what is nice about the forum. It's inspirational.

Your personal touch is astonishing. Shocked

Hi Olivier,

many thanks for your post.
These islands are one of the best places to shot landscapes.

At the moment I looking for a place for few holidays with my family beginning of April. What do you think about Quimper and area around? Make it sense at this time ?

regards

Rolf, I LOVE this area. I had certainly heard of the Faroes before, but
only had a faint sense of the area being in the North Sea somewhere.

I had no idea that these island exhibit sub-alpine and alpine topography.
The opportunities for imaging must be tremendous!

I wonder if the wind blows here. Laughing Shocked Cool

Would there be various alpine wildflowers in season, or is it quite barren?

Looks like it is sparsely populated, and I assume that raising cattle and
sheep might be the largest part of the economy?

I can see in the distance of one image, a beautiful stream bifurcating the
distant valley. I can only imagine the beauty of the stream in this stark
terrain.

Also, the beautiful tarn looks so alpine, even though it is not far from the
sea itself. Almost like a dream. The placement of the rock in the
foreground give a great sense of scale.

You have exemplified all that is good in photography with these images,
Rolf. I could rhapsodize with many paragraphs, trying to explain my
feelings about these shots. So, suffice it to say that these are magnificent.

Well, if you speak about the weather at this time, I really don't know any more, It's so disturbed this year...

Anyway, I have friends from Toulouse (south-west of France) and they had a very good time in Britany, even if weather was not too good. They enjoyed their walks and cycling around their farm room.
Britany is always a wonderful place and landscapes are great whatever is the weather. Lights are so changing.
One very good thing too, is that you can visit some very beautiful islands.
I think that, being warned, you shouldn't be disappointed ! Very Happy

Hmmm...
Just thinking about it.
It could be better to go a little souther in Vannes country : Carnac, La Trinité sur Mer, Locmariaquer, Arzon, Sarzeau.
I spent very good holidays here. I was in Port du Crouesty in a house of a "Pierre et Vacances" village. With my wife we had a short thermal cure in the morning and in the afternoon we went out for visits and walks.
There's a sailing club around, a nice yachting harbour, some beaches, and you can eat very well around.
You can also go visit islands by boat.
Its a very well known region for sailors.

@ Larry

During summer you can see hundred of different flowers, but I´m not sure whether there are alpine wildflowers. No trees on the whole islands (only in few gardens) so wood is an important import item.

The population on the island will be approx. 50.000 persons and between 70.000 to 100.000 sheeps.

The Faeroe islands are one of the most popular islands, followed by the Azores and Lofoten.

You should spend a holiday there - it´s worth it.

Beautiful work, marvellous light. They're reminiscent of parts of the Outer Hebrides on a day when it isn't raining Smile
