I found a Mamiya Auto Sekor 50mm f1.4 and a Pancolar zebra 50mm f1.8 at a local used camera store. He seems to think that manual lenses are worth less than manual bodies, which is great (apart from the mint SMC Tak 55mm 1.8 he does not want to part from the Spotmatic body it's mounted on).

Both lenses are in great condition, with only stuck blades that he is going to clean for me. He is asking 40 euros for the Mamiya and 30 for the Pancolar. They look like good prices to me, what do you think?

Also, I don't know anything about the Mamiya, it's not the 55mm 1.4 but the 50, with a very large front lens which shows the same yellowing as the Takumars. Anybody knows this lens?

+1.

If you look for the 1,4 in M42, you can go for one SMC. In other mounts? Planar - summilux R.

For one very good lens (perhaps something yellowish like the takumars) in the 1,8 range the zebra pancolar is the option for me.

Rino.

I had the Super Takumar 50 f1.4 and somehow I never got to like it too much. I'll post pictures of and from the Auto Sekor hopefully next week.

I don't like so much the ST 1,4/50 of 7 elements too. I prefer the SMC version, and the ST of 8 elements (more pictorial effect to me).

I like to see the mamiya 1,4/50 mm in M42 mount. Isn't it?

Rino.
