Wow, great samples. The new Sony sensor seems very good. I wonder how will wide angle lenses do with a short flange distance, how will the corners be? Do you think you cant test it?
BTW.
How do you find video quality? I'm kinda disappointed with the AVCHD (24Mbit @ 1080 25p) codec that Sony uses in its cameras... _________________ Cameras: Canon 5DIII, Zorki-4, Canon AE-1

I did some comparisons between footage shot with a Canon 7D and files from a nex 5n: I worked quite deeply with them in post production and I must say that nex's files were at least as good as 7D's ones.
So much that after that work I bought a nex 5n to shoot simple stuff. _________________ C&C and editing of my pics are always welcome

Well I know that sony APC-S matches canon's, I own(ed) several Sony cameras, and have an A77 now - but it't no near GH2 in video department. Since we're talking about video, I was wandering how the new FF sensors would turn.
I think/hope in an year or so, sony will eventually make a mirrorless FF compact nex photo oriented camera - nex7 alike. The question is how will it perform with short flange distance lenses, leika-m and such. Corner performance is an issue on lenses wider then 35mm. _________________ Cameras: Canon 5DIII, Zorki-4, Canon AE-1

I spoke about canons because they're quite used in lo-end pro video works, never seen stuff shot with a gh2: I always read great things about it, but I just never happened to edit or grade something shot with that.
I don't think sony will release a FF mirrorless cam before late 2013, honestly: it will fall exactly in the middle among its latest 3 products (a99, vg900 and rx1) stealing some possible customers from each of the three. Not that I have any marketing knowledge, it's just an impression.
I always loved sony video gear back from the days of pal/ntsc and mini-dv, and I think a nex is great for what it costs, but actually there's a bit of gap to fill between gear (even expensive) to shot holiday videos (and that can be occasionally used for some higher level stuff), and real pro stuff.
I'm really curious about this VG900, especially for the FF sensor (it is a great up, for me): I hope I will get a chance to shot something with it soon, or to edit something shot with it.
If it will not be as good as it should, there's always black magic. _________________ C&C and editing of my pics are always welcome

Well, the situation is not that bad with the video, I just wish Sony gave users more choices with codecs. But clean HDMI ain't bad either if anyone is serious about video anyway - A99 has it and I think VG900 too. _________________ Cameras: Canon 5DIII, Zorki-4, Canon AE-1
