Hello everyone,
I am a brand new member, and quite an ignorant one as well. Please forgive if my questions are rather simplistic.
So I went ahead and bought a manual lens
Minolta MC Celtic, 28mm, f2.8.
I want to play with it on a Canon 20d. Any suggestions as to a good adapter? I went to ebay, and there is plenty to choose from, but also plenty of confusing info as well. If anyone has successfully adapted it, please help.

Thanks

Welcome, canicas! Smile

I've not used any Minolta lenses with my Canon, though there will
be others along to share their knowledge & experiences.

If you haven't found this yet you need to read the info on these 2 links.

This will give you an ideah of what you need, and what you can expect out of the lenses, on your camera

As I know you can't use Minolta lenses on Canon with a simple adapter it will not reach infinity focus. You need to use adapter with additional glass, which means most of the cases highly degrade image quality so no reason to use it.

Mount conversion option is available , but not a smart solution from many aspects.

If you like to play with many different lenses take a m4/3 camera and basically you can play with any kind of lenses what is available on market.

When funds become available. I'm going with an Olypus e series so I can use my Minolta lenses.

The links I provide above are from Mauro Placido. His solution is to replace the Canon 44mm mount with a 43.5mm mount to match the specs of the Minolta lenses. You will get infinity focus with this setup.

This is a great setup if your only running MF lenses. But if you want to run the Cannon lenses for this camera, you have to change the mount back.

The links above provide complete info including testing.

Here is a link where he is selling his adapter on Ebay.
