G'day all
I've been "lurking in the undergrowth"for some time until I had a reasonable question OR something sensible to say. Now the time's come for a question.
Could someone please give me some info on the following lenses I just acquired. Quality , rarity ,age etc. See pics....
THANX from Ron |

First two are the original early T-mount series from @1961-63 probably - the lenses for which Tamron introduced the famous T-mount.
The 200/3.5 is an excellent lens. Not really rare, though more common in distributors brands (like Aetna) than as Tamron.
This is mine -

The second is a much less common compact 200mm lens.
All the ones I've seen are labelled 1:6.3, not 1:6 - is it possible the "3" is scratched off yours ?

Your last lens is a very common Tokina-made 300/5.5 in an automatic mount. This was sold under dozens of brands, including being relabelled by major camera makers like Mamiya. This was one of the first series of Tokina automatic lenses. It was also made in the T4 interchangable mount and sold under the Vivitar and Soligor brands.
Dates from about 1967-1975 - thats the range of dates from which I have seen these listed under various brands, the last one in a Sears brand in a 1975 Sears catalog.
I think its an excellent lens. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Thanx a lot for your input Luis
As for your question on the 2nd lens: It's a straight forward 6,nothing has been scratched out or erased.
Thanx again

I've stopped buying Tamrons!
Well, unless you count the 450/8 and the 200-400/6.3 I picked up earlier in the week _________________ Graham - Moderator

Talk about lens porn - have you got a picture of the 450/8? |
