Paragon is a photax lens? It seems to be that

This PMC in green remind me the VMC in green of Vivitar?

Looks like an anagram of Panagor who also used the 'PMC' but in Panagors case in red letters

Rino

Thanks i saw that thread, but maybe paragon and photax are just the brand names and not the maker in both cases ?

I'll guess it originated at Cima Kogaku. The diamond shaped witness mark is a characteristic of Cima. Yours would be newer than the one illustrated here.

Hi Bill !

You're the man! I was racking my brain thinking of where I had seen that diamond mentioned. Of course, you were the guy who had told me !

Nailed in one of course. Cimko it is. The lenses are kissing cousins on design and construction details.

I learn from my mistakes. On my web site I comment that Cimko is probably the maker of some Chinon, Hanimex and Makinon 135s. I've learned otherwise since then!

That's for all. Can you actualize your commentary in your web?

Rino.

Can't do it, Rino. I haven't been a subscriber to that provider for four years now! I surprised they haven't removed it from the server. It still seems to get quite a few hits and links.

BEWARE : Later (1980 / 1985 ) Cima (cimko) lenses are among the worst in quality

Raising a thread from the dead here I know, but....

I bought one of these lenses today very cheaply. It's in great codition, nice clean glass and no marks on the body at all, and everything turns smoothly as it should.

But something is bugging me.

There's a dead fly inside the lens!

The mummified corpse is rattling around deep inside, I can get it from behind the iris to in front. At the front it appears to be up against the front element. Is it easy to get the front element out ?

I've had front glass out of other lenses, so I'm thinking this is they way to go? But does anyone know different?

Or should I just leave it in there and shake it behind the iris when I take pictures ? Rolling Eyes

I had a Super Paragon 200mm f:3.3 and it was very good.
Unfortunately I broke it... Crying or Very sad
It happened when I opened it and remounted glasses in a wrong order.

Yeah, that would **** it up! And that's what I'm trying to avoid. I've already got a shoe box full of broken ( by me ) lenses. Rolling Eyes

The fly, but it's cooperative in as much as it hides in the mechanism when I use the lens, which actually isn't a bad lens at all. Very Happy
