Hi i have a chance of this lens from a old friend i not see for sume time i visit him today got talking cameras
and he has some Nikon lenses he needs to sell which i have no problems pricing up in a fair way except this one the Nikkor 18mm f/3.5 Ai-S as i not see one sold before or know what its performance is like...All i can get from Google is that it probably a above average performer for a ultra wide
So my 2 questions, what is its like optically? and what is its value in the UK ? its condition' is very good with it lens hood , am not saying its mint but you will have to look for marks etc it nice and clear with no cleaning marks
I just wont to make a fair offer as its a old mate
Thanks dave

Thanks for that, i had searched ebay .co.uk which come up with 0 not thinking of .com
in your images the lens seems to have a lack of distortion for a 18mm are the images corrected or is it just very good.. thanks dave

I used this lens briefly on the D700 (FX). Sharp center, strong vignetting.
