I got this lens from a Yashica kit. It was sold to me as "Wide angle lens". It came with a front Minolta cap, but has a C/Y mount.
Minimum focus is somewhere near 0.29 meter.
I don't have much more info, here's so picture.
Hoooo and btw, the front lens ring is missing, hence the quest for information.

It kinda looks like some 28/2.8's I have, one is a CZJ, and one was a Cosina.
I'd need a picture of the front to know for sure. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

I have one lens with the distance designation marked with a capital letter 'Ft' rather than a lower case 'ft' and that's an Auto Steinheil 100/200 zoom.
That was about the only distinctive feature I can find on your lens, but I'm sure other will find more. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

I couldn't tell on my iPhone what that image was, anyways it looks just like my CZJ lens, the distance scale matches it too, keep in mind that it was nearly identical to a Cosina lens that died and is now in pieces.

I have two of these lenses.
They are an IMAGE branded lens.
I tried inserting a photo but was not successful.
You could do a search for IMAGE to see a photo.

I'm pretty sure it's a Cosina, I had a couple of Cosina lenses with the same finished but in different focal lengths. That Zeiss labelled lens is 100% a Cosina. Expect decent but not great performance. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Thx for all the info.
I think it's an Image branded lens. From what I can find localy, Image was a "big seller" when looking for cheap lens here. _________________ Body : Canon 5d Mark II, Canon 50d

There were some `Image by Vivitar' lenses. I suspect this was Cosina. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

The Cosina on my 1DIII had very noticeable distortion can't remember if it was barrel or pincushion, so far I have not seen it with the CZJ on the NEX-7. But it is sharp. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...
