I have this light meter from Soligor, and it seems to be in working order.
If anyone have a manual or a link to one, I will be more that happy.
I am a little confused using it, and what about the screw on the back +0-

These little screws were used to adjust the lightmeter.
What you normally do is to set the ISO, point at the subject and press the activator button. The needle shows you the right parameters. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Thanks.
1/ Do you know if is a "spot meter" or a xxx (don´t know the word, sorry)?
2/ Do I need to go to the main subject, or can I just point it?
3/ I think I need to adjust it, would it be a good idea to use my Sony A700, the light meter on that is excellent? _________________ Henrik

The +/- screw is most likely for adjusting the "zero" position of the meter pointer.
The red and green buttons are what you press to turn the meter on to measure light - one will be for a low light range and the other, bright light.
In the absence of instructions you can tell which is which by pointing the meter at a bright light source and pressing the red and green buttons in turn - if the meter is working correctly, one of them will cause the pointer to go full scale on the meter dial.
Whichever button that does this is the low light range button.
Your meter is most likely an "averaging" meter in that it reads from a fairly large central area and you can point it from where you stand to take the photo - point it slightly down so you read more of the subject than the sky for a more accurate exposure. Be sure to set the ISO correctly first though as Carsten says.
HTH.

Good.
To use the meter:
1. Set the ISO.
2. Push whichever button best suits the available light.
3. Read off the exposure value on the meter.
4. Transfer it to the dial.
5. Read off all the available f stop/shutter speed combinations for the particular ISO you're using. |

Thanks
I have just tried that in low light conditions (indoor) and it seems to work fine
I tried to take some pictures using A700 and they was ok.
But lets say I am 10 meters from my subject. Do I just point the meter in that direction, or do I need to move the 10 meters, read the light and move back.
I will of course try tomorrow, but it would be nice to know how it was intended to be used. _________________ Henrik

lahnet,
Unless your meter has a white dome that can be slid in front of the cell that takes the reading, you take your reading by pointing it at your subject. This is reflective metering. If it has that dome, you would slide it over the cell & stand at your subject & point it at the light source. This is called incident metering. Looking at the photos you posted, it appears as though your meter is of the reflective type, but short of a frontal view, I can't be certain... _________________ Cameras-Nikon D300, D7100,D610,FE2,FTN ,FT2,N90s, Olympus Pen EP-3 & Olympus OM-D E-M10
