4.5 mm ? what kind of lens is it ? mount ?

It's a sigma 4.5mm f2.8 circular FE auto focus with HSM, my copy is in pentax K mount.
Anything beyond 40cm is tack sharp.
It's also 'almost' impossible to bring out the bokeh.
Still Sigma add an HSM motor in it

No other PP than crop to square.
Sharp even at f2.8.

Interesting I never heard of it, I think due I had no interest about AF lenses. 4,5 mm sound is pretty weird I thought a CCTV lens Smile

As far as I know, it is the only lens with circular FE on crop sensor.

The other I have is an add-on Kenko adjustable focal and own aperture which I never tried.
According to reviews, the Kenko is sharp at f11, and not so good otherwise.

Seems Kenko is pretty week, right.

Excellent topic !

I would love to see some c-mount lens on a Nikon 1 camera if possible, and of course with the OP permission.

Hi!

All of these are from a Tamron industrial automation lens, model 23FM25SP: c-mount, 25mm, f1.4, 103g. I made a post specifically about this lens here:

http://forum.mflenses.com/tamron-23fm25sp-t52439.html

All of these shots were made with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 micro 4/3 camera. I used LR4 to convert from Olympus raw ORF format to JPEG.

#1A f8 1/100s ISO500. Colors adjusted, without crop.

#1B f8 1/100s ISO500. Colors adjusted, cropped.

#2A f5.6 1/125s ISO1250. Colors adjusted, without crop.

#2B f5.6 1/125s ISO1250. Colors adjusted, cropped.

#3A f1.4 1/100s ISO500. Straight out of the camera.

#3B f1.4 1/100s ISO500. Colors adjusted, without crop.

#3C f1.4 1/100s ISO500. Colors adjusted, cropped

Cheers!

Thinking out loud here.....

Wouldnt a 1.4x teleconverter remove most of the vignetting issues we see here?

Having said that I have never seen a teleconverter for NEX, perhaps someone should make one

Crop probably simpler I never seen ever TC either for C mount or NEX and most TC ruin IQ.

Tevidon 25mm keeps up the amazing IQ level of the other Tevidons, third shot is fantastic, congrats.

+1 on the third shot! However, the second shot is also really nice, showing the individual needles on the evergreen tree.

I have to say that the Tamron seems pretty darn good as well.

I already posted these in http://forum.mflenses.com/help-me-id-the-lens-t54697.html, along with some images on m4/3, where the lens does not vignette. To me cropping square feels weird however, I prefer rectangular crops.

The lens has a very recessed front element (like a typical 50mm macro) so that one can saw off front of the lens making it into a tiny pancake.
