If you sell it, you'll be able to buy other lenses, for sure Wink

£350.00 to Buy It Now???!!!

For that sort of money, it would want to carry some pretty interesting provenance as an incentive to pay that price. And, there's no mention of a box, case, paperwork, strap, body cap or any of the accoutrements one could reasonably expect for that price level.

As a collector and user of AOC cameras, lenses and accessories, it puzzles me where the expectation of attaining that price comes from.

If I appear harsh, so be it - but I looked at a superb, more rare 'Electro Spotmatic' with all the items as described above just yesterday in a shop in Paris for a fraction of what you're asking.

Well, I'm sure you are right, you have a lot more experience than I have. But, at the end of the day I don't want to give it away for nothing so I'm just experimenting to see what the market will stand. If it sells, it sells. If not, no harm done. I'll just have to review my pricing structure.

As a collector and user of AOC cameras, can I ask you for some advice? I have a small collection of Asahi Pentax cameras, lenses and accessories which I have now started to use rather than just collect and I have seen for sale a SMC Takumar 85-210mm f4.5 complete with close-up lens in (as far as I can see) as new condition for £65. In your opinion would this lens be a worthy addition to use? I don't expect it to produce the same quality of results as my prime Takumars but I would like to hear peoples comments before I consider buying? Thank you.

All of my kit is used frequently (apart from things like the Slide Copier, Copipod and some other accessories), and all of it has withstood the test and ravages of time, so you're absolutely spot-on with deciding to use it as opposed to dusting down and admiring the collection!

As to the zoom lens - £65.00 seems to me to be a fair price if the lens is in the condition suggested. I won one before Christmas which was described as being 'immaculate' - the unfortunate truth of the matter was that the lens was actually in dreadful condition - straight back to the seller...so to somebody like me (and with the close-up lens which will allow closer minimum focusing distance), it doesn't seem excessively priced.

The lens itself seems to have a good reputation - although some of its owners here may say otherwise - with its 11 elements in 10 groups, it's capable of producing great results.

I have this lens, minty condition, paid less than 50€ shipped from the USA. I've not used it so much, because it is a very very long lens (longer than a 300mm, either 300/4 or 300/6.3), and the close focus ability are low if you don't use the aditionnal lens. I've hardly tested it, resultats seems to be not so bad, but far from equivalent lens in the range among Takumars Wink
