Artificial snow cristals on glass plate, totally transparent when looking with naked eye, but with 2 polarizators we can see the structure of crystalls. Backlighting with little softbox through polarized filter. Lens Helios 44m+ linear polarizator+20mm macro ring, camera Canon 40D.

Nesster - Yes, behind glass i had big polarizator (piece of old LCD monitor), and other one on lens!

Actually taking photos of ice was very easy.
With this technique i also made pictures of sodium thiosulphate.

Hi Sven!
My set up was extreamly simple. Everything was made in 5 minutes, including ice, just spill water on glass, and -20 degrees did all the rest Smile
