Over on Pentax forums, there's a Pentax SV that is being mailed around the country, for a year now, as a way for people to get a taste of good screwmount gear. I haven't been on the list, but then slipped up slightly Smile

The sightseer arrived yesterday... so this morning I pressed it into camera porn service - had the Tamron 52bb with extension tube, the Micro-Nikkor 55/3.5 with extension tube, and the Macro-Takumar 50/4 which doesn't need a tube. They all work beautifully, and I won't pick a favorite! On the K100D.

Anyway, the SV porn:

Tam 52bb @f/11

Macro-Tak @ f/8

Macro-Tak @ f/8.

Micro-Nik @ f/8

I corrected the color on the last one a bit. And it and the Tamron are about 1:1, the two Tak shots aren't. I did shoot the same thing wide open or f/4 and f/11 with each, but I ain't gonna show & bore everyone. They each look mah-velous and the 90mm of the Tamron does come in handy.

Yes, it is a handsome one. And a great idea too at pentax forums - so many are only gingerly trying out film, or never used a screw mount camera. For me, the most interesting thing was psychological - for some reason, I'm back to square one on the SLR when it comes to exposure. Acting stupid in fact.

The first times I shot with folders, estimating distance, and then overcoming my meter dependency with folders/range finders, was anxiety provoking. I thought I'd be all done with that. But, put this SLR on my face and I'm dumb and anxious all over again.
