In the spirit of the community here I am posting this on the forum first, to give anyone interested the opportunity.

Canon EOS 40D, bought new from Park Cameras in the UK in April 2008. Shortly after I bought the camera, I experienced a lengthy illness, and only returned to using the camera in October 2008. As I noted in one of my early posts, in late November 2008 I discovered the benefits of working with the Nikon DSLRs (D200 and up) with manual lenses, and so have used the D200 almost exclusively since then.

Consequently, I need to rationalise my gear, and when I checked the 40D prior to sale I realised that I had only taken about 350 frames with the camera, which is absolutely unmarked.

It comes with all its boxed accessories - software, cables, manual, charger, battery plus 3rd party spare batteries (the box is from a camera & flash kit, but includes only the camera), plus a Canon EfS focusing screen (better manual focus and pretty good metering with manual lenses). The original focusing screen is also included, along with an eBay split-image/microprism screen. I will provide a couple of books on the 40D.

I am asking for £450, plus postage and any Paypal fees.

One of my regrets at selling this camera and concentrating on Nikon is that I can no longer realistically use my Carl Zeiss Contax/Yashica mount lenses, so they will need to go to new homes as well! I have the following for sale:

CZ Planar 50 f1.7 AE (Japan) - asking £60 plus postage and fees
CZ Sonnar 85 f2.8 AE (Japan) - asking £145 plus postage and fees
CZ Sonnar 135 f2.8 AE (Japan) - asking £120 plus postage and fees

All of these lenses are in clean condition with no marks on the glass, smooth focus and aperture mechanisms, minimal marks to the paint and negligible amounts of internal dust.

I am also selling a C/Y-EOS lens mount adaptor, infinity focus, with AF-confirm chip which works reasonably well. Asking £15 plus postage and fees. If anyone buys the 40D and one of the lenses, I will include the adaptor (assuming it hasn't sold first!).

Further accessories that will only work with Canon and so must go are:

Kenko 300 DG Pro 1.4x teleconverter, boxed clean unmarked condition - asking £55 plus postage and fees
Canon EF12II 12mm AF extension tube, boxed clean unmarked condition - asking £45 plus postage and fees
Canon TC-80N3 Timer remote control, boxed clean unmarked condition - asking £75 plus postage and fees
Canon ACK-E2 AC adapter, boxed, unused - asking £45 plus postage and fees

If you are interested and want any further details, or photographs of the equipment, please PM me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Regards

Angus

PS: I also have an EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 AF lens in excellent condition, but given the nature of the forum this doesn't seem like the right place to list this one!

Fantastic prices! I'm sure someone will gobble this lot up pretty quick (please, someone, before I do something my bank manager will regret...) Surprised

Amazing prices for the Contax lenses.
That 2.8/85 Sonnar is a personal favorite.

Best of luck with your sale.

First, a correction. Since I used the Zeiss lenses on the 40D with an adapter, I had not noticed before that the 50/1.7 is actually an MM, not an AE Embarassed .

Thank you.
This is a normal price for this zoom in average condition, so it's a good price for a mint one.

Hello Olivier,
Yes, as I said on the 'other' MF forum, I have hardly used it, since I think I am more of a telephoto man - it's how I see the world!

I do look after my equipment, so it is in excellent shape as you can see.

Best regards

Angus
