I have Pentacon 135 f2.8 and quite happy w the result on digital, but recently I saw Carl Zeiss Jenna which a bit slower (f3.5). I rarely use my Pentacon @ f2.8 if sharpness is the main intention to take pictures, but @ f4 & above this lens is shinning up. Not sure whether can be classified as steller on this aperture.
I like to hear whether Carls Size Jenna is better @ wide open or @other shared aperture.
Many thanks,
RTOGOG

Better in what way?

I have both lenses and they are so different. CZ is sharper & more contrast. Meyer/Pentacon has more aperture blades so you always get circular bokeh and lower contrast.

Question of mood (: i think. The older 15bladed Orestors (Pentacon) has more natural, calm colors also (like the 2.8/100 Orestor). The Sonnar i find more vivid + has a shorter focusing distance... so as said depends on intent. I didn't have the chance to try the newer Pentacon 2.8/135 MC for longer.
