Cosina still makes the Nikon-branded FM10 and Nikon still has one production line that churns out the F6, information confirmed last summer at a Nikon workshop in Japan. |

Some months back Kodak announced the release of a new film-based manual focus SLR. See here:
http://www.1001noisycameras.com/2009/03/kodak-will-release-35mm-film-slrs-and-cameras-via-sakar.html
The above press release also mentions a Vivitar product, but it kinda sounds like the Kodak and the Vivitar might end up being the same camera, just rebadged as a Kodak. At least that was the impression I was getting. _________________ Michael

I think Seagull, who bought the Minolta manual focus SLR line lock stock and barrel, is still making them, and even further developing them. Their DF-200 sure looks very enticing: somehow they managed to shoehorn a Copal Square into te X-series body which was designed to have a horizontal shutter, I'll never figure out how they did it. |

I didn't know that; do they still make lenses for these cameras, too?
(And is this why my Seagull angle finder fits on my Sony and Minolta cameras directly but requires an adapter for other brands… =) |

Seagull's English website is very poorly maintained, but the Chinese language site is not much better although it has a more comprehensive overview of the products. This is the homepage:
http://www.seagull-cn.com/website1/index/index.asp
The page featuring 35mm SLRs is:
http://www.seagull-cn.com/website1/product/
The page featuring 35mm SLR lenses (Minolta MD mount of course):
http://www.seagull-cn.com/website1/product/index.asp?ProdCatId=1&ProdClaId=9
Although in Chinese language they should be self-explanatory. |

kansalliskala,
There are Seagull distributors dotting across the world, but few of them carry anything close to a comprehensive product line. Even the manufacturer was not helping: on their website they did a terrible job describing the features of the various models, and even worse, not doing anything at all to give the reader anything like a vague idea of the differences in features between the models. |

Forgot to mention that, Phenix took over the Yashica FX-3 models and now offers several variants in different camera mounts, including the Kenko-branded ones. |

Are they new or some old stock?
A few months ago a Moscow seller was selling 50 new Helios-103:s in one lot. And I think they are not certainly in production? _________________ MF: Kodak DCS SLR/c; Samsung NX10; OM-10; Canon T50

I recently bought a brand new Contax/Yashica mount camera manufactured under the Braun brand - the Braun SR2000Y.
I'm not sure who actually makes them but they also produce them with a Minolta mount and maybe others too. It's very similar to the Yashica FX-3 Super with a vertical metal mechanical shutter, a 1/2000th top speed and simple metering. It came with a perfectly adequate Braun Ultralit zoom lens. _________________ Contax RTS/Zeiss lens fan and constant user along with my Mamiya RZ67 ProII. Favourite lens: Zeiss Planar 55 f1.2. |
