I re-made Canon's eyepiece with Nikon DK-17M, so testing with this. Camera used is EOS 5D, ISO 640.

click the photo to enlarge as usual

Then shot 5 frame or so, the first one is a matte black paint can. No sharpness applied, pretty sharp lens it is. No surprise?

The last one is my wife making a bug, USM 130, 1.3, 1 is applied by C1V4. The contrast is low, but I did not touch it.

size 900 x 600 in 100% crop of the above (no more enlargement)

This FD lens is a pretty sharp, eh? I converted this FD lens to EF-mount, it was worth while me thinks. :8
I now respect Canon a little bit more today. Laughing

Hey Koji,

Very good detail! You do not mention which apertures you were using. The small can looks like wide open, maybe, but the one with your wife looks more like f/2 or so?

I have a 55mm f/1.2 FL that I haven't done much shooting with yet, except for a few test shots. So far, my conclusion is that it is just okay wide open, and doesn't really get decently sharp until f/11. I'm evaluating negatives, however, so there's some inevitable loss of detail in the digitzation process.

I still like the lens, though, but I'll admit that I've been jonesin' for an FD 55/1.2 SSC that my local camera shop has. For a reasonably good price, too, but more than I can afford at this time.
