Well, I got a package today containing an Apo Lanthar 90mm + 180mm and there was a little bit of sun, so I grabed the cam and ran to the park...

Theses are the shots using the 90mm on a D200 all fully open.

Well, I guess I don't have to say much...the last one "sold me".
(except that the 180mm is sold and the 90mm is reserved)

There is more clarity in the red leaf shot in this one than the 180. I'm
guessing you used the D200 in both threads. This has the same bokeh
characteristics, nice and smooth. Colors seem to be a skosh more vivid
in these as well, at least on my monitor, maybe there was better light
for these. This is my pick of the two lenses.

Thanks for sharing, Klaus!

This was also shot using a D200 but there was sun which then quickly faded away
for the 180mm shots (where I had to use ISO400 to get just acceptable exposure times).

Personally speaking - I only wish I had got the 125 and 180 when I could have afforded them (I used to work). The 90 is my leading lens. Very telling samples klaus

Amazing how CA is absent even from the most OOF areas.
Truly a gem of a lens.

Oh, very well, perfect samples to show the power of APO.
What a lens! Thanks for sharing Klaus.
