This photo of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge was taken back in about 1990. Nikon F2, Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LD IF, exposure unrecorded. Kodachrome 64. Scanned with an Epson 3170 at 3200 ppi. The scanner insisted on turning blacks into navy blue, and I wasn't entirely able to get rid of this in post processing.

The "mist" you see coming from under the bridge is from the bridge painters, who continuously paint it. They sandblast the old paint off (hence the "mist") before applying fresh paint. As soon as they reach the end of the bridge, they start all over again. Talk about job security.

A wide shot. This one was taken with a Nikkor 24mm f/2.8:

Aahhh. The Golden Gate is always a photogenic and impressive subject (at least to me).

Cheers, Marty.
