I missed the opportunity to bid on one of these in Canon FD mount. Dunno anything about it. The photo shows that it has a macro range. Looks like a more recent design. S/N FD 92 . . . but it's on the body, and not the bezel.

Anyone know who made Vivitars with this S/N?

Not sure but I had a 24mm/2.8 macro Vivitar in y/c mount about 20 years ago and I remember it as a pretty reasonable lens . I used it for architectural photos in b+w film when I was an archaeology student, rather than in a creative sense and it served me very well Very Happy

Not listed at http://www.cameraquest.com/VivLensManuf.htm or http://www.robertstech.com/vivitar.htm

KironKid claims to have an expanded list of serial numbers, but tends to go silent when asked to post it.

Likely a Cosina version since it starts with a "9" and has it's SN on the body as well...I have one in Nikon mount but it sits gathering dust as I also have an Ai & an Ais mount Nikkor 24mm F2.8's, a Sigma Mini wide 24mm F2.8 in both MF & AF , a Komine made 24mm F2 & a Tokina made Vivitar 24mm F2.8, all of which I like better....I guess I should sell some of my 24's

I found this:

It looks the same. Sounds pretty ordinary. Think I'll pass. I need to get a Nikon F to Canon FD adapter so I can just use my Nikkors with my F-1. Keep forgetting about this . . .
