Great images and SO close! Is this classed as a macro lens?

PostPosted: Tue Oct 13, 2009 3:48 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

NO, it's not a macro lens. This lens added by a macro extension tube so the focus distance to object is nearer. felt like use 50mm macro lens 1:1

OW! fantastic! very-very impressive, I wish I have of yours hehehehehe, do you have any information about them?

These silver lenses are most of them fixed-mount variants of the Adaptamatics apparently. Some are variants of early Adaptalls.

Does yours look like this ?

I have almost all the Adaptamatics and many of them are really very nice.

I picked this one up today,a bit of dust inside but looks good. How does the mount work?It has the M42 mount it is set on M but it won't switch to A unless I think I unscrew the silver ring and then take the mount off and then set it to A is this correct thinking??

It should switch from M to A, but sometimes these don't. Its a fault in the lens somewhere. I have some that work and some that don't; switching the mount doesn't seem to do anything.

Try this take the silver screw ring off then the adapter mine is the P-CS.Put your switch to A(so the A is visible),then look at the little lever that either hits the bottom of the pin or the side,(when mine was not working it hit the side and it was set to showing the M)make sure it sits under the pin. Then put everything back and the slider should slide from A to M and the pin should depress.
let me know if it works for you. sorry I get confused with the A,M setting when the A is hidden by the slider that means it is set on Auto or Manual...I know very basic question but often it's the little things that get me!
Thanks

All of mine are actually Adaptall 1 mount, I didn't realise there were silver Adaptamatics as well! Dammit, more collecting to do Laughing
