Hello,
I want to share my newest aquisition. It's a Leidox camera from the small German manufacturer Leidolf in Wetzlar.
The camera is from around 1950 since Leidolf had to rename it after a dispute with a camera maker from the neighbourhood who thought the name to be to close to its own.
It`s a very basic camera and I don't think that there was ever produced a manual - 4 shutter speeds (25 / 75 / 200) and aperture ranging from 3.8 till 12.
There is 127 roll film needed to get negatives the size of 4cm by 4cm. Fortunately there is a manufacturer in Germany who is still providing these rollfilm new.
Is there anyone out there who has experience with this camera. I am wondering if there was a lens hood and b/w filters available. Unfortunately there is no filter thraed so something like a push on hood or push on filters are needed (outer diameter is around 26mm).
Here are two pictures of the camera complete with rangefinder and exposure meter:
I am going to show the results but it might take a while. |

That is a nice looking piece, and 127 film is CUTE. I just bought a roll also, for my Starflex.
Fitting a hood may be a bit of a hassle, as I see there's not much real estate on the front element. You might try a 35mm film canister, if that is a good fit cut it to size... otherwise you can make something with heavy paper to get started with. _________________ -Jussi

What film options do you have for 127 in the US? Is there still slide film available?
In Germany you only get expired 200 ISO colour negativ or the Rollei Retro 80s b/w which is new. |

You already mentioned the Rollei. So that leaves Fuji color slide 127 available at B&h Photo. FFc also custom rolls 127 film, it is sold at central Camera.
Here is the link.
