I visited the preserved Mid Hants railway on my birthday on Saturday. It runs a mixture of diesel and steam traction on a 10 mile line through Hampshire from Alton to Alresford. It's mostly rather a picturesque route and I'd like to go back in summer:

Thanks poilu, I've been getting into railway photography more lately. There is another set on there from Friday when I travelled on the last train of Wrexham and Shropshire. They were an open access train company backed by Deutsche Bahn but the government did not let their trains use the fastest route. The company had to compete by providing good service and they had the highest satsifaction ratings of all of the train companies but were unprofitable so had to stop operations.
