When I saw a small Konica C35 FD ( = Auto S3 ) in a pile of cameras offered as junk I could not resist and had to try to rescue it. It's automatic did not work, there was neither movement of the needle in the viewfinder nor did the aperture change, it always stayed open. This was in a used camera shop which has it's own repair shop ( in Oaska, Japan ) and thus chances of repairing it myself may have been slim, but I hoped for it, gave it a go, and believe that now..it is ready to shoot!

here it is:

all that was broken were the connections of the wires of the battery compartment..but it did take me some time to find out, and I did solder a diode into the camera to down the voltage of available batteries to the 1.35 Volt this camera had been designed for. And I had to do the lightseals..
here the progress story of the repair Wink : http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80697

anyway, I feel proud to have rescued this little great camera, hopefully I soon can show some photos taken with it.

best greetings,
Andreas

Hi Andreas.

Congratulations. Your S3 has one of the more reputed konica's rangefinder lenses (a great thing). It's sharp (yes, SHARP) from F/1,8.

Good luck. Rino.

I love the fact that you had "worldwide" suggestions from the forum members. WONDERFUL!

thank you guys.

I now have 3 rangefinder and main reason why I had chosen these models was their lenses, they are Yashica Electro GL, CCN Wide and now the Konica Auto S3 ( C35 FD )
time to take photos..
