This is an item I missed out on last week. He bought it for $351 AUD but I think he is dreaming if he expects his ask price. I was bidding for the Helios 40 and was going to do exactly what he reckons this kit is too valuable to do, split it. I don't think the rest of the kit is worth the price he has inflated it to.

My condolences....Not in the same league but I have noticed a few Russian cameras above the $50 mark!

I contacted the seller, he's willing to let the set go for $800AU if anybody is interested, still too rich for my blood.

The only item in that kit worth anything is the Helios 40, the rest just doesn't justify that kind of price. He's a decent and honest seller except for that exorbitant ask on this kit. I've bought from him before. He occassionally sells some pretty decent lenses.

Of course the price is too high. But it's a very nice set.

How much can a Helios 40-2 that is in this good of condition usually fetch? It's nearly impossible to find one that is in that nice of condition.

Seen them as BIN for approx $400usd, possibly not mint condition though. There is one currently listed starting at $280 usd I think in Germany. I gather you are in Oz Dave so you'll have a fair idea of the relative exchange rates.
