Further to my earlier post, here are 100% crop samples from the two lenses. The Summicron is not wide open, of course. At f2 it is much softer than at f2.8.

Looking really closely, it is possible to see a hint of CA on the Leitz glass, but not in the Zeiss.

The slight difference in colour hue is quite obvious (these were shot on custom WB) ... I feel the Summicron is about right, the Biometar seems just a touch too blue.

It is possible that the WB was set with the Leica. Here's another Biometar shot (f4 this time) with custom WB reset with the Zeiss optic ... but it certainly isn't any better, so I guess the WB is not responsible for the tone.
