Canon DPP and MF Lenses

I've just had a weird problem with Canon DPP showing completely wrong saturation levels on files shot with a Summicron on a 5D2. The images appear as if behind a grey veil, but on "correcting" them and opening them in PS, they turn out to be the most horrible, vivid over brightened things.

Does DPP have some issue with handling files from non-proprietory lenses or is something else happening?

Mostly, I process files from original JPEGs - which is all I need for most of what I do - and just keep the RAW as backup and for proof of ownership, so I may not have tried this program with manual lenses since getting the new camera.

Any answers?

I have no problems using DPP with all my MF lenses,.

Is it possible that the issue comes from de 5D Mk II ?

no problems here with DPP (versions through 3.5.2.0) either, but I don't have 5DII only 5D.

Assuming camera displays images correctly, other possibilities may be computer color management settings, incorrect Monitor Profile, or colorspace. Maybe a printer color profile is selected instead of monitor profile?

Yes, thanks. I was starting to suspect it was something created by my efforts at colour management, 'cos the colours from PS don't match those on my other monitor.

I've had favorable experience using Quick Monitor Profile ( http://quickgamma.de/QuickMonitorProfile/indexen.html ) a small utility for creating custom profiles that also indicates which profile is in use and which others are available. Also the sister utility QuickGamma ( http://quickgamma.de/indexen.html )
