The camera is nice, but will it take my M42 lenses?

It will mount nearly anything.

The next model is likely to have a EVF. If so I might grab one if the Samsung NX series is not out or does not mount LTM and M RF lenses.

Of corse using a suitable adaptor! The E-P1 has a much shorter register, so no problem (except the M42 lens is too thick).
