The metal ring around the thread shouldn't be more than 5mm wide. If the adapter isn't shaped like that, the only possibility how to reach infinity, is to remove 1.8mm of the bottom part of the focusing ring (on a lathe). Or use a 2mm thick pad (and give up infinity focusing). Or try to find Helios 44-3 model 1993
