I have some M42 lenses I'd like to use on a Minolta XG-M body. Is there any adapter available that does this conversion?

Yes, the adapter exists. Search eBay or the web for M42 to Minolta MD (or MC).

Did you get one? I have one spare M42-MD adapter.
