I am still waiting to see if Alex can deliver the Exakta/EOS adapter. They are available from (I think) two vendors via ebay at present.

I have had problems with the chip not connecting properly on the M42/EOS link - any suggestions anyone?

No information so far. What is your opinion abut using after market grip and battery to 5d mark2?Click here to see on Ebay, http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?omid=103&ref=froogle&utm_source=Froogle&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=SAKBPE6&sku=SAKBPE6
Is somebody here to use such items and can compare it to OEM parts? Thanks in advance for any information

You were only one who responded to my post in this tread. Thank you very much. In exchange I want to give you information that I bought adapter M42/EOS (AF) from seller kp_store, paid $23.49 (free shipping), paid May 26, received (from Hong Kong) June 01. Adapter works great on several different manual lenses including Flektogons (2.4/35, 4/20, 2.8/20) Tamrons AD2 (3.5/17, 2.5/180, 2.8/90, 2.8/80-200) Takumar 4/50 Macro, Fuji 3.5/55 macro. I can confirm that using this adapter you don't have to worry that mirror will hit the rear of any lens (even set to infinity-special Flektogons).
I am also very happy with generic grip for 5mark2, made under brand Phottix
Below samples from Apo Lanthar 2.5/125 (M42) on 5mark2

Voytek, the mirror problem is nothing to do with the adapter, it is due to the rear elements of some lenses projecting back inside the camera body when they are focused out towards infinity. It varies from one lens design to another. There is a thread about lenses which work and those which don't and I am pretty sure that the old 5D lens compatibility list to be found on the net also applies to the mark II. It is best to check for any known problems (which usually only affect lenses shorter than 100mm).
