I don't expect it to be better than my CZJ Sonnar 135/3.5 but I could not resist 30 euros, including shipping For a lens that, from the pictures, looks in excellent condition!
I will post some pictures when it arrives ... |

Hi,
it is a nice lens.
I bought a Super-Takumar for approx. 20 Euros more but it was new and unused. You will have a lot of fun with this lens.

optically it's about the same as the CZJ Sonnar... Pentax didn't make many dogs. But mechanically it's way better, focusing feel, build quality.. not as good close-focusing distance though (1.5m vs 0.9m) |

Actually the SMC-Tak 135/3.5 is sharper wide-open than the CZJ 135/3.5 _________________ Canon EOS 5D MkII , EOS 50E, Contax RTS, Olympus OM2n, Nikon Z6ii

Great lens. I got a chance to hold one at a local pawn shop a few months ago. Was very close to purchasing it, but with the Sonnar at similar focal length, I decided not to. Fantastic build quality; it felt much better in my hands than my Sonnar.
I would imagine that the bokeh is not as deluxe as the legendary Sonnars. Yet, if memory serves me correctly, both have 6 blades. OP, I would love to see a head-to-head match between these two once you receive it. |

That's an easy one ... the Sonnar will win that. But the Takumars are very solidly built lenses indeed, and my other Takumars are very sharp and have good color. |

I feel it would be a very good comparison. The Sonnar my win but it would be a very close race and a matter of personel taste for many. _________________ Nikons : F4-EM-FG-FE2-FA-EL-FTN-N2020-N70-F Nikkorex

No comparison to the Sonnar yet, but here is a quick flower shot (indoors, natural light, tripod):

It has the typical Takumar sharpness, colors and contrast ... in other words, great! |

I have both Super and S-M-C versions of the 135/3.5, with different optical constructions (my Super-Takumar 135/3.5 is the first version with more lens elements than the latter Super and all S-M-C variants), and generally like the rendering of the Super-Tak more than the modern S-M-C version.
Which one do you have? (ID here: http://www.aohc.it/tak04e.htm) _________________ List of lenses |

I'm not knocking your test shot, but I have seen some TERRIFIC images from the Tak.
I think with a bit more control your Tak will preform VERY well. _________________ Nikons : F4-EM-FG-FE2-FA-EL-FTN-N2020-N70-F Nikkorex

Oh yes, I absolutely agree (also about the esthetic qualities of my test shot ). I'll try to find some time this morning to go out and make a few decent pictures. |
