I prepared this quick sample shots for member Lang53cruse (comparision of the lenses I'm offeringin marketplace), but I think that other members could be interested also, because these are well known and quite popular lenses Smile

First shot is at f/4: Pancolar / Biotar... both focused at infinity, so nearer objects are slightly out of focus. Please open in new window, if full-size images don't appear:

Second shot: the same at f/8:

Last shots: flowers and bokeh at f/4:

All pictures are automatically converted from RAW (so white balance can be slightly different for each shot, left upon the converter). I think Pancolar has slightly sharper edges at f/4 and Biotar has rounder OOF lights in bokeh. Of course 8mm makes slight difference too Smile

I take it that you are using a 50mm Pancolar, but there are three distinctly different optical designs, which might make them quite different in performance too.

This is MC Pancolar, so definately not the old thoriated one which is based on different optical formula. I have no idea, what is the difference between the other two, because the optical formulas are almost identical and I've never registered any performance difference, which would come from these variance of optical formulas. I think color of MC layers has bigger impact in dependence of MC color of DSLR sensor.
