Hello everyone,

I am new to these forums and I have a question.
I have a Pentax Program A film SLR and I recently bought used Mamiya lens, it is MAMIYA SEKOR f=200 mm, 1:3.5.

I am wondering if I can mount this lens on my Pentax using some kind of an adapter?

The mount of this lens looks veery similar to the K mount of a Takumar lens that I already use.
I took some pictures of this lens and it's mount so you can take a closer look:

I also found this website dedicated to M42 lenses and adapters and here you can find all the info on this lens and it says there were three generations of this lens made, and the one I've got is definitely the third generation, since it uses 58 mm filters.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,

milosh

Not likely that it would work.

That was a unique mount for the later Mamiyas (earlier ones were M42 screw mounts).

There are no adapters for that that I know of.

Its possible the lens mount can be modified to work, or replaced, but the value of the lens as a collectible would be reduced.

Thank you for your reply,
fortunately I didn't pay too much for it, didn't even know if will be able to use it.
Speaking of it's collectible value, what do you think, how much is it worth nowdays, and would someone be interesed in buying it?

Thanks,

Milos

Their post M42 small format lenses and cameras tend to be hard to sell and are cheap nowadays. Their quality was high, but Mamiya managed to go through three mutually incompatible proprietary bayonet mounts (plus two departures from M42) in one single decade, which destroyed their market back then and has not encouraged many to collect or use them.

Thanks Sevo,

I guess I'll just leave it in a closet, didn't pay that much for it anyway.

Thanks!

You might consider getting a Mamiya body, They are not expensive.
