I'm searching for a M42 to EOS adapter and found this Hoada adapter:
http://haodascreen.com/m42.aspx

I't extremly expensive, but it also has some function to make it work with full frame cameras witch the cheap adapters from ebay not does.
(Ebay adapter requires a small, not permanent modification of the camera: http://www.anestore.com/acess/ring/afring/afeos.htm)
But I doubt if it's worth the price?

I'm also thinking about the one that rugift.com are selling: http://rugift.com/photocameras/canon-eos-adapter-focus-confirm.htm. Anyone know anything about that one? Will it work right away with my Canon 5D without modification?

I would really prefer a adapter witch doesn't require modification of the camera, even if the modification is small, easy and non permanent.

I'm only intrested in the version with electronic focus confirmation and all metering modes.

The adapter arrived today... Feels very tight and good.
Too bad I don't have any lens to try with yet... But my first should arrive any day now. A dirt cheap Helios 44-2. Smile

Thanks!
Hm... hope it will be alright... At least it was cheap.
Maybe I'll have to shave the mirror. Razz

I've been thinking about that because of the Zenitar 16mm that hits it just a little.

if i had a 5d i would be more afraid of this method:

than of my "hot-knife"-method. how about you 5d-owners?

Well, luckily it was that Helios 44M 2/58 (1980) auto that is green and doesn't hit the mirror.

Unluckily, the lens was in quite bad shape with oily aperture blades and aperture ring almost stuck... But atleast optics is good, and it was dirt cheap. Razz

We must take a look at the repair department of the forum.

It's nice to buy bargain lenses and spend time to "reincarnate" them. It's cheaper. Wink

Yeah, but I'm quite happy with this anyway...
The "auto" aperture or how it should be described makes it possible to easy choose aperture very fast without using the stiff ring to step down.
Well, it might not be exact every time, but it doesn't matter. Smile
