Thought I would post a link and a few images in this section. Rings cost between $3.15 and $6.65 each depending on quantity. Screws are $1.60 a pair.

I made it to sticky , because I think this is great development to our community. Many thanks to invest your money into this ring and made them to available for us. If I can help to you in selling I am glad to put them into my Ebay shop to increase your sales.

You should know guys Konicas one of the last hidden gems, lenses are highest quality as possible I rate them to Japanese Zeiss and... you can buy them for next to nothing this time.

Thanks Attila. The sticky is a good idea. They are selling pretty well again. I am down to about 50 pieces left and just ordered more screws as many are buying some screws as well. The screws I can supply are a bit too long, but cut easily with a Dremel tool and cut off wheel. I screw them in and see what sticks up and then I trim a bit more off just so it doesn't bottom out.

I might put a few on eBay myself to see if there is some interest, it certainly reaches a wide audience.

Well there's not much to review. They're just a brass ring. Wink

Ah, that makes more sense. I look forward to seeing what those lenses can do.

Some test of a lot of them. In french though. But the pictures should speak for themselves. Smile

From the shots on the French site the 50/1.7 is better than the 50/1.4 even when both are at f/1.7 and throughout the range. I have heard some people swear it is one of the sharpest 50mm lenses made.

I have at least three 1.7 I didn't found to sharpest lens.

hi , i am sorry if i sound stupid here, but how exactly the brass rings works on the Konica lens to make it mountable on Olympus camera ? I look at the photos posted yet I could not get a clue on it. And I am interested in getting one ring too. Thanks.

Maybe a review is not so unnecessary, Cledry...

I got five of those brass rings. They come with a single hole and no notch on the side as you show on yours. (No warning before on this).
So I'm filing them to be able to properly place on the lenses.

The single hole provided is just to avoid the ring turning. The provided screws are too long and have to be trimmed (this was warned by the supplier). You have to unscrew one of the existing screws, put the brass ring on, and screw one of the trimmed longer ones. The rings I got had the hole miscentered, so I've also to carefully file the hole to

Besides this, (and not related to the adapter), it's necessary to build a cardboard baffle to put into the backside of the lens, to improve the contrast
Due to the cropping factor of the camera, only the central part of the lens is used.

All in all, the adapters need some work to make them useable. Better getting the ones withtout the hole.

Right product for the price, but don't think to use them "as they come".

Regards,

Jes.

Jes, the hole is not mis-centered, it is not a mounting hole it is for the lock pin to go into. I do all these holes on a jig and I have converted 6 lenses for myself and 4 for others and the hole lines up with the lock pin on my test camera which is the L1. If you use it as a screw hole it will be off by quite a bit.

There is no way I could sell brass rings for this price if they had all the machining shown in the photos. Wink It does say on the web page that you must cut the notch for the aperture tab.

I am sorry you were under the impression that they would not require work, hopefully others don't feel mislead.

I have put together instructions as a pdf, I don't know if there is a file area on this forum where it could be deposited, but I will be happy to E-mail anyone that wants a copy.

Jes, I am sending the pdf your way, hope it helps clear anything up. If anyone wants to offer improvements for the wording of the pdf or the web page I am open to suggestions.

Jim

Hi Jim,

Sorry, I misunderstood the whole thing, but I'm happy with the adapters. They are right. I missed the notch and the hole parts, and that's my fault.
Thanks for the indications, with them it seems easier to finish them.
So far I've gotten three AR lenses, the 40mm one that you show, a 35mm one and a 50mm 1.7 one, so I'll be busy the next weekend adding the notch and hole for the screw.

I'l put some pictures about the process (be warned, they may look like brass porn, I'm bad with the files and the tools).

Again, thanks for the info,

Regards,
Jes.

Hi Cledry,
I just read your PDF file about instructions for installing your ring. Nice and easy.
Is infinity focus right on with your ring, or is it a bit before the infinity focus stop?
Cheers

It focuses a slight bit past infinity, but you can shim the other side of the flange if exact infinity focus is important to you. It is really close though.
