Had this out for the first time today.
I like Macro normals like this one for sunny days.
It's sharp open and you don't need a hood with the deep recces front element.
These are all with the 5D and handheld.
I did not plan to do any flower or plant shots.
Spring is here......why not Wink
More and more I wish I had a Pentax DSLR.
The colors I see from you guys who have them are really most to my liking (not to mention the B+W conversions).

Here are a couple quickly shots to show the Tak fans I am worthy of joining the club Very Happy (I hope Rolling Eyes )

Lucky on this one The westering sun was soaking it in golden light.

Nice shots. I like the 50/4. However mine is in a really bad shape. Need another copy.

Doesn't need to be macro to shot using a macrolens - thanks for the nice proof of that Andy, works excellently I would say!!

Cheers,

Thanks fellas Very Happy
The comments are appreciated very much.
I like this lens so far quite a bit. Honestly it will likely be used wide open and mostly for Portraits as that is most of my work.
This lens is perfect for shooting kids.
I'm not much of a Macro shooter. It was kind of fun to lay down on my side in the forest and get that group flower shot.

A B+W conversion. Had to do a lot to rescue this and the ISO was up for the previous shot accidentally. I like the expressions.
The girls are listening to there grandmother about some Morels we found and how to identify them.
Shown in the quick poorly focused shot at the end Wink

Not yet.
This park is just 5mins from my house.
The patch I found was quite large and hidden.
I'll give them just 1 more day to get bigger and come all the way out.
Anymore than one day will be too much.
It's that season already. Very Happy
Soon fresh Salmon will be in the Market.
It's happy time Laughing

Near f47 sunlight. Wink I like the light. Always done, I know not many agree with the strong sunlight. Wink But i like the sharp and deep shadows.

My 50mm is in really bad shape. Had to take it apart to focus it. It really is time to bury it soon. But I got a minty 100/4 with hood, caps and bag. So its OK. Wink

Andy, this post from your S-M-C 50 F4 got me thinking about my copy of the K-mount SMC 50 F4 that I have. I got this one right after I got my first DSLR and within two weeks of getting it, I got my hands on a Vivitar Series 1 105 2.8 with the 'A' setting. So needless to say my M50 went into the cupboard and I am not sure it has ever seen the light of day again.

Forward ahead to my latest MF Russian addiction and my new appreciation for the old fully manual lenses, and your post has me digging in the box for my little M50 macro.
I do wish it was 2.8 for the OOF area, but man it is one sharp little lens.

Thanks for reminding me I have this one. It is too good not to make on the camera occasionally.
I will post a couple shots from it when I dump the card.

And zewrak, that is a great portrait of your wife...
