We were lucky enough to have this aerobatic display team come to our town last weekend.I did not make it to the airport were they flew over ...but I managed to capture them from a distance using the Tamron Mirror 55B.Besides the sensor dust and heavy cropping...what do you think ?if there was better light the results should have been way better....and i was a little more experienced with moving targets...Laughing

Ok ,the light was lousy and we know you really need good light to make this lens perform.I was happy however with at least how close the lens got to picking up these planes as they flew by.

I had to PP these quite a lot as the they came out very under exposed.I think I should have adjusted the shutter speed as I went but that only occurred to me after they had finished the show...oh well you live and learn Very Happy

shooting planes is like shooting birds, no lens is long enough, or fast enough.

Does your body have in camera image stabilisation?

Considering what you were using, I think you did quite well.

I quite like #3 and #4, although I would probably crop out the wing at the top of #4

I like #5 for the doughnuts Smile

Hi Ben,
Yes the Pentax K200D has in Camera stabilization ...which makes it a little easier when using a longer lens.. Very Happy
