Hi everyone, here are some photos taken with this lens, handheld it. Taken at full tele of 300mm wide open at f4.5. It got the same problem as Vivitar 400mm f5.6, Chromatic Aberrations (CA) problem. Red fringes can be seen, look at the 100% crop. But it is overall a performer and can produced sharp images.

100% crop

Pronounced chromatic aberrations can affect sharpness because the light rays of different colors are reaching different points of focus, hence the reds/greens/etc. That might be the case here. Nikon made an ED version of this lens, which is supposed to be top-notch. I take it this one is not an ED, eh?

Best,

Michael
