Fixing the Konica C35

Hi colleagues!

I've been looking at the Konica, and the shutter seems to be okay, so the light might enter through the seal between the body and the back cover.
I've been looking where I suppose the light should enter (according to the position of the spot in the pictures), and I notice the black foam that does the sealing might be degraded...

No idea of what to use as a replacement, or which kind of matterial is it.

Any ideas will be very welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Jes.

Replying to myself, maybe good for others:

I've found an american guy that sells a kit of this kind of foam. He provides extensive instructions, and it's not so expensive.
I've just ordered a kit, I'll tell you how this is going.

If anyone interested, please: Click here to see on Ebay

Cosmin, maybe this could be added to your nice list of links Wink

Best regards,
Jes.

Yes, I'm impressed. I use to pay just after buying anything. One minute later, the guy sent me an email to my email address (not to the nasty eBay messaging as all the other sellers use to do), telling:

Hello, Jesus.
Thank you very much for the purchase and prompt payment! I'll mail your kit tomorrow, and I will leave positive feedback to your ID tonight. I hope all is well in Barcelona, and I hope you have a good weekend.

What makes / models will you be re-sealing?

Best regards,
Jon Goodman

Besides being so kind, the information on his ad is extremely informative. I think I've been lucky finding such a nice person!.
I'm trustful in being able to fix the Konica now.

Just one hour ago, I didn't know anything about foam and resealing... Wink

Jes,

You impress me Jes
You are a great toreador. Whatever problem (Taurus) come you find solution instantly.
I wish I had you dynamism.
Waiting to see how it goes with the foam.

Thanks, Poilu, but some times I give up after the first tries. I gave up on the Virtual Village focusing screen until Peter convinced me to try it again (thanks, Peter!). I need to fix the things quickly, if not many times I end giving up.
However eBay is helping me in changing habits: Now that I have to wait sometimes for weeks to receive a new item, I'm turning more and more insistent.

Best regards,
Jes.

Hi collegues,
Jon Goodman has sent me a link to his site where he keeps detailed instructions on how to fix the seal in several brands of cameras...
