Tokina lens 28mm (rmc rmcII el series)

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone can help me. I was looking to pick up a new f-mount 28mm and was looking at tokina because have read some good reviews and seen nice sharp images. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the different 28mm lenses tokina produced. As far as I can see, there are three different 28s. There is a RMC version which just has regular writing on the front of the lens. Then there is a version that has what looks like RMC II on it and there is some orange and green writing on the front. The last kind I have seen is the EL version and this is just has white lettering on the front. I am guessing they are from different time periods with the RMC II being newer, but was wondering what the difference is in terms of optics, build quality etc. and which oe is the better one. I really appreciate and look forward to any information anyone can give me.
