The adapter for this lens arrived today (only two months after I ordered it), but for the life of me, I cannot work out how to control the aperture selection.

When I remove the Canon FD adapter and replace it with the new (EOS) version, there's no pin or lever to help with opening / closing the diaphragm. Looking into the rear of the lens, there is a lever which I could probably jam into position with card or tape, but I wonder if there's a simpler, more correct, way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help...

set the aperture on the lens to 2.5

Align the green dots and turn the adapter until it clicks.

Now you can put up the adapter on the camera. Set the camera to Av mode and set the aperture according to your wish on the tamron lens.

Embarassed How stupid do I feel now??? Embarassed

If I had bothered to open the lens user manual, I wouldn't have had to ask the question! Every other lens-type is intuitive, this one really got me - probably because there's no green dot on the new adapter, so it was a bit of trial and error (more error unfortunately...)

Many thanks for your rapid response - can't wait to take this lens out for a test drive at the weekend.
