Jupiter 9 with Nikon D700

Here are my first tries with the Jupiter 9 in front of a Nikon D700. Of course I cannot focus to infinity, so the portraits are only partial ones. Denis is my vegetable seller, Pavle one of my neighbours. The combo seems quite nice for macro work, but I'm not really into macros. All three pictures are unsharpened. Denis is a little bit too yellow, but I let it go as it is.

Rare with J-9, because everybody says that it's unsharp.

What apertures did you use?

Iso?

Thanks.

No.1 is ISO 640, No.2 ISO 1250 and No.3 ISO 320

I only used apertures f2 and f4, but I don't know which is which. I will try out this combination a little bit more and note the precise dates.
'Macro' is of course the wrong word for what I meant. I should have written 'close-up' or something like this.

Hi, Thomas.

First of all, Thanks.

Second, I asked you becasue I have this J-9 too, and I heard that it's sharp at F/4, but I found that it's really sharp from F/8. And your pics seem to me to be sharp too, with the limited DOF based in the near and the wide open.

I'm knowing the lens.

Rino, I think this is copy variation issue only all of J9 was enough sharp at wide open and tack sharp stopped down. One times I did tested many portrait lenses on same model. J-9 was in top three.

Participants were Biotar 75mm, J-9, Biometar 120, Pentacon 135mm zebra some others I don't remember. I found finest for portraits Pentacon 135mm f2.8 zebra (incredible bokeh and smooth skin tone) J-9 was right after.

I must ask you if the test is in any page or in gallery, I want to see it.

Difficult to see any test with better lenses!!

Rino.
