I have a Soligor-brand Tokina 24/2.8 in T4 that may be the same lens, as it was also sold as a Vivitar with the 37xx.. serial number.
It one of the better Tokina T4's I think, better than the 21/3.8 anyway.
http://forum.mflenses.com/soligor-24-2-8-t4-mount-t7278,highlight,soligor.html
There were several versions of the 24/2.8 probably, so a picture may help identify it. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

I had to sell Nikkor 24mm f2.8 AIS , that was my best 24mm lens. Better than 24mm f2.8 or f2 Olympus and I think good as or better than 24mm f2.
Now I have a Kiron 24mm f2 still untested due stuck aperture. _________________ -------------------------------

I'll disagree with the guys calling it a Cosina made lens. Notice the dual aperture scales. It is a Tokina made, TX interchangeable mount lens. This is the second version of that lens, with 52mm filter. The first generation was larger and took 58mm filters. The first version lens socred excellent ratings at nearly all points in a Modern Photography test in the late 70s. This is a different optical design from the one tested so may vary.

You're likely correct that it is a Tokina made lens upon further inspection, but I don't see dual aperture scales. Just one aperture scale & then the distance scale in white for feet & green for meters..I have the later Tokina made Vivitar 24mm F2.8 in Nikon Ai mount & it looked different...Wonder how the version I have compares to the TX version?..Picture quality threw me off & I had no TX mount lenses to compare... _________________ Cameras-Nikon D300, D7100,D610,FE2,FTN ,FT2,N90s, Olympus Pen EP-3 & Olympus OM-D E-M10

As others have stated this is Tokina made. I have one with the 58mm filter thread and it is a very good lens. It is also TX mount so useable for open aperture metering. _________________ "The ultimate result of protecting fools from their own folly must be to fill the planet full of fools." Herbert Spencer |
