Well, I picked this up on ebay for not a lot...wasn't really sure what to do with it tho! It's an M39 for Leica I think. I received an adapter from the Ukraine today which didn't seem to screw all the way in...weird. So I screwed the adapter into an M42 extension tube, and then screwed the lens into the extension tube.

Result? A very difficult lens to focus Laughing

Here's the beast:

Roeschleins were Paxette lenses - the mount resembles LSM in width and thread, but has a different mount depth and longer register distance.

Roeschlein was the man behind the classic Meyer and Schneider triplets. Legend has it that he left Schneider in anger and set up his own company when they moved up-market and refused to invest into the Radionar line. But it is just as likely that Schneider themselves set him up to cater for Braun (who were the most important domestic mass market manufacturer at that time, but at least a class below where Schneider wanted to see itself) in competition with the lesser German lensmakers, without watering down their main brand.

The lens might not be a paxette mount, which is also an M39?

Aha! Thanks guys!

I haven't really looked into M39 / L39 / whatever they're called lenses before, could have some fun here! I received a Fed-3 lens today too...
